ABOUT PLEDGES

Over 585 pledges of support for the Count Every Vote Act were collected by the end of the Art Fair in Ann Arbor, July 23 2005.

Because WPA and friends are circulating paper copies of the Pledge to Support Count Every Vote Act and A Pledge to Support Removal of Barriers to Voting, the actual number of pledges at any given time is not readily available. So instead of posting daily, beginning August 2005, WPA will tabulate and post results periodically. Meanwhile, pledges of support for both the Count Every Vote Act and Senator Liz Brater's bills to eliminate barriers to voting continue to be gathered as people sign paper copies or sign online.

Pledges are sent to U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton, who introduced S450, the omnibus Count Every Vote Act, and to State Senator Liz Brater, who has introduced four essential election reform bills. Co-sponsors of these bills will receive periodic tabulations.

WPA thanks everyone participating in this display of voter support for effective election reform, and encourages voters to tell their friends to visit www.wpactivists.org to sign up, or download a printable pledge.
